York Wines is a specialist wine importer based in Yorkshire. The majority of their business is wholesale to restaurants, pubs and shops but in recent years their internet retail sales have been rising dramatically. In order to capitalise on this, York wines wanted to radically rethink their web presence and enlisted DefiningIT to design a new fresh website which was easy to use by both the customer and by York Wines staff.

The site was designed using Actinic, one of the worlds leading ecommerce, shopping cart and EPOS software companies and has been in operation since March 2006. York Wines has noticed a dramatic increase in revenue generated from internet sales of wine since the site went live and customer feedback has been very positive.

In addition to supplying the new website, DefiningIT also implemented an easy to use application which allowed York Wines to send regular Html based e-mails to existing customers regarding news and special offers. This application is linked to Actinic so that new customers are always included in the mail shots. Regularly contacting existing customers is generating large volumes of repeat business.
